Former Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, has been appointed as the Chairman of President John Mahama’s newly constituted Council of State.
The 27-member advisory body, comprising 16 elected regional representatives and 11 presidential appointees, was sworn in on Tuesday night.
Key appointees include former Attorney-General Betty Mould Iddrisu, ex-MP Cletus Avoka, and retired Supreme Court Justice Vida Akoto-Bamfo.
Additionally, institutional appointments feature ex-Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo and former IGP Mohammed Alhassan.
The Council of State, mandated by the 1992 Constitution, plays a crucial role in advising the President on governance, key appointments, and national policies.
Members will serve throughout Mahama’s tenure unless removed by parliamentary approval.
