Chairman of the 9th Council of State, Edward Korbly Doe-Adjaho, has urged members to prioritize national interest over personal biases in their advisory role to the president.
Speaking at an orientation at Peduase Valley Resort, he stressed the need for confidentiality, warning against disclosing Council recommendations to third parties.
He reminded members that while they provide independent advice, they are not an autonomous body but a constitutional mechanism to offer impartial counsel.
Doe-Adjaho emphasized that their work should reflect pressing national concerns, particularly youth expectations and governance challenges. He urged members to uphold credibility, engage meaningfully with leadership, and ensure their recommendations positively impact governance.
He concluded that the Council’s relevance depends on its ability to serve Ghanaians beyond political considerations.
