Domelevo exposes judges' asset declaration scandal

Former Auditor General Daniel Yaw Domelevo has criticized public officials, particularly members of the judiciary, for failing to comply with asset declaration laws.

Speaking on Joy News on February 18, he condemned the deep-rooted corruption and lack of accountability in key institutions.

Domelevo revealed that even former Chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah and other top judges failed to declare their assets, calling it a constitutional breach.

He expressed disappointment in oversight bodies like CHRAJ for not enforcing consequences, arguing that public officials who assume office without fulfilling this requirement are acting unconstitutionally.

Comparing it to presidential inaugurations, he questioned why asset declarations are ignored while other constitutional processes are strictly followed.

Domelevo urged urgent reforms to ensure transparency and curb corruption.I
