Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the MP for Old Tafo, has spoken out. He urged fellow New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs not to defend Kwabena Adu Boahene. Adu Boahene is accused of misappropriating State funds.
Mr. Assafuah shared his views on JoyNews' AM Show on March 25. He stated that if the allegations are true, NPP members should not defend Adu Boahene. "If this is true," he warned, "please don't go and defend it."
The allegations were revealed by Dr. Dominic Ayine, the Minister for Justice and Attorney General. He disclosed them on March 24.
Dr. Ayine claimed that Adu-Boahene embezzled millions of dollars from a cyber defense project. He served as Director General of the National Signals Bureau from 2017 to 2025. The funds were allegedly diverted into real estate investments in Accra and abroad.
Additionally, Adu-Boahene is accused of laundering over $2 million through real estate transactions.
