Government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu addressed two controversial flights in Ghana.
He explained that the Air Med aircraft landed at Kotoka International Airport for repairs. The aircraft needed new tires, which took several days to fix. Engineers had to be flown in from abroad to complete the repairs.
Kwakye Ofosu shared updates on social media. He posted pictures of engineers working on the damaged tires at the airport. He emphasized that the parts and engineers arrived on a different flight, causing a three-day delay.
Regarding the Cavok flight, he provided footage of its inspection by security officials. This inspection showed it was carrying oil drills and jerrycans filled with oil. He urged people not to be misled about this situation.
Rev Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member on the Defence and Interior Committee, disagrees with Kwakye Ofosu's statements. He believes his concerns are valid and wants security agencies to provide a briefing to the committee.
