Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, has urged President John Mahama to honour his 2024 campaign promises, particularly on corruption, LGBTQ rights, and illegal mining ("galamsey").

Speaking at St. Paul’s Catholic Church’s 80th anniversary in Accra, the Archbishop highlighted the trust voters placed in Mahama, warning, “Do not disappoint us.” He emphasized the need for leaders to act with integrity and sacrifice for the nation's good.

Representing Mahama, MP Francis-Xavier Sosu reassured the congregation of the President’s commitment to fulfilling his pledges.

Sosu added that rebuilding Ghana requires collective effort from all citizens. The church, established in 1945 with 25 members, celebrated its growth into a vibrant community with over 20 societies.
