The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has warned the public to disregard false social media posts claiming lost or unclaimed luggage is being sold at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

These fraudulent posts, circulating mainly on Facebook, advertise baggage for as little as GHS 32.

According to GACL, the scam first surfaced in October 2024, prompting the company to issue a disclaimer. However, fraudsters have resumed similar tactics to deceive unsuspecting individuals.

GACL has reiterated that these claims are entirely false and intended to exploit the public. It emphasized that official announcements are only made via verified GACL social media channels.

The public is advised to remain vigilant, ignore unofficial posts, and report suspicious activities, as the company remains committed to safeguarding the public from such scams.
