Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has humorously cautioned Defence Minister-designate Dr. Edward Omane Boamah not to withhold "protocol allocations" despite facing intense scrutiny during his vetting.
The remark came after a heated debate over Dr. Boamah’s past comments on the Ghana International School (GIS) land issue.
During the session on January 28, Afenyo-Markin pressed the nominee over his 2024 condemnation of alleged "land looters" under the NPP.
Dr. Boamah clarified that he did not directly link the incident to the party and promised further investigations.
Their exchange escalated when Afenyo-Markin asserted that past Defence Committee members from the NDC had benefited more from protocol allocations than their NPP counterparts.
He then quipped, “The fact that I'm grilling you doesn’t mean you should deny me when you get there.”
