Heavy rain in Nkoranza North delayed the counting of ballots. This occurred during the District Level Elections (DLEs) on Tuesday.
Mr. Chrisentus Derry is the Returning Officer for Nkoranza North. He reported that the elections were successful in all 26 Electoral Areas (EAs).
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he mentioned that results are still being collated. This includes results for both District Assembly Elections (DAEs) and Unit Committee Elections (UCEs).
A total of 98 candidates ran for the DAEs. Among them, there were 93 males and five females. For the UCEs, 190 candidates participated, including 176 males and 14 females.
Mr. Derry thanked stakeholders for their support during the elections. He noted that voting took place peacefully from 7 AM to 5 PM without any issues.
