Dr Akplotsyi challenges Dr Bawumia's reasons for NPP's electoral defeat

Dr. Richard Akplotsyi is a senior lecturer at Ho Technical University. He criticized Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's reasons for the NPP’s 2024 electoral defeat.

Dr. Akplotsyi accused Dr. Bawumia of avoiding responsibility for economic mismanagement. This mismanagement contributed to the party's loss in the elections.

Dr. Bawumia cited the incomplete National Cathedral project as a reason for defeat. He mentioned that $58 million spent on it eroded public trust.

However, Dr. Akplotsyi argued that Ghana's economic challenges were key factors in their loss. He urged the NDC administration to take their mandate seriously and focus on solutions.

He said, “Ghanaians know their problems and they need solutions from leaders.” He added that leaders should not just recount problems but provide answers.

“If you want to remain in power, do the opposite of what NPP did,” he advised. Former Vice President Bawumia is currently on his Thank You Tour.
