Former Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Alex Ampaabeng has dismissed claims of mass recruitment in December 2024, calling for the reinstatement of public sector workers recently dismissed by the new government.

The terminations, ordered in February 2025, cited concerns over last-minute appointments made without financial clearance.

However, Dr. Ampaabeng refuted these allegations, stating that the last recruitment clearance was granted in November 2024 for TVET services.

He condemned the dismissal of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) recruits, arguing that their hiring process began months before the 2024 elections.

Critics see the move as politically motivated, prompting the Ghana Education Service (GES) to establish a committee to review affected appointments.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh insists no health workers have been dismissed.
