Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong to speak at Harvard’s Africa Conference 2025

Harvard University will host Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong. He is a prominent business leader from Ghana. He will speak at the 16th Annual Africa Development Conference (ADC) on April 11-12.

The conference theme is “Africa by 2040: The Future of Africa’s Youth.” It aims to shape discussions about the continent's development.

Dr. Sarpong's participation is a proud moment for Ghana and the Ɔdadeɛ community. He is an alumnus of Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), Legon. His journey from PRESEC to becoming a key figure in Ghana’s economy is inspiring.

He founded Special Investments Ltd., Special Ice Ltd., and Special Homes Ltd. These companies significantly contribute to real estate, water production, and construction in Ghana.

Dr. Sarpong also co-founded Best Point Savings and Loans, U2 Salt Ltd., and United Television (UTV Ltd.). UTV has become one of Ghana’s leading television stations.

Currently, he serves as Global President of the Ɔdadeɛ Alumni Association (Ɔdadeɛ Global). He is also Board Chairman of PRESEC, guiding future leaders.

Under his leadership, the alumni association has expanded its impact. They focus on educational excellence, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment.

Dr. Sarpong holds an MSc in Finance and Investment Management from Salford University in Manchester. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana.

His leadership style emphasizes integrity, vision, and national duty. This has earned him recognition both locally and internationally.

At Harvard ADC 2025, Dr. Sarpong will discuss how Africa can utilize its growing youth population by 2040. With over 500 attendees expected, his insights will inspire many.

Harvard has previously welcomed dignitaries like Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Peter Obi. Dr. Sarpong joins this esteemed list, highlighting Ghanaian leadership's global influence and PRESEC's enduring spirit.
