Dr Yakubu Seidu Adam is new CEO of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital

Dr. Yakubu Seidu Adam is the new CEO of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH). His appointment is effective from Tuesday, 6th May 2025. He succeeds Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, whose term ended in October 2024. During the transition, Dr. Frank Owusu-Sekyere acted as CEO.

Dr. Adam has over 20 years of experience in healthcare. He joined KBTH in 2003 as a Consultant Eye Surgeon. His specialties include glaucoma, cataract, and refractive surgery. Since 2017, he has been the Head of the Lions International Eye Centre.

Dr. Adam is a Fellow of the Ghana College of Surgeons. He is also affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Ophthalmological Society of Ghana and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has published numerous research papers in respected journals.

As CEO, Dr. Adam will lead KBTH's mission for world-class healthcare. He aims to advance medical research and provide comprehensive training programs. His appointment supports ongoing strategic initiatives like the Legacy Project to improve healthcare delivery in Ghana.

Dr. Adam expressed his commitment by stating, “Together, we can build a better Korle Bu.” He emphasized teamwork to enhance hospital services and impact.
