Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, a former Minister of Education, has donated GH₵100,000 and 200 bags of cement. This donation supports victims of a recent fire in Adum PZ, Kumasi. The fire destroyed many shops and homes, leaving dozens displaced.
During his visit to the site, Dr. Osei Adutwum expressed concern for the victims. He highlighted the impact on children’s education due to the disaster. Over 2,000 traders have been affected according to NADMO and local authorities.
Dr. Osei Adutwum felt compelled to help after seeing their struggles. He stated, “I just had to contribute.” He emphasized that the fire's effects could harm students whose parents work there.
“This is a tragedy and major devastation,” he said. He noted that these hardworking individuals drive the country’s growth. Without support, their children's education is at risk.
The traders thanked Dr. Osei Adutwum for his generosity. They urged others to assist in rebuilding their businesses and homes.
