The Ministry of Energy has rejected calls from the Minority in Parliament. They requested a load management timetable due to ongoing power outages, known as ‘dumsor’.
On May 19, the Ministry issued a statement through Richmond Rockson, its Spokesperson. He noted that Ghana's power generation capacity meets national demand, even during peak times.
The Ministry acknowledged inheriting a troubled distribution system. However, they are taking steps to resolve these issues permanently.
They stated there is no need for a load-shedding timetable right now. The current capacity can handle peak demand without any problems.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to providing stable electricity supply. They assured Ghanaians that they are focused on fixing distribution issues and ensuring consistent power delivery.
"The Government remains committed to providing electricity to the Ghanaian people," the statement concluded.
