Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo Markin has criticized the NDC government. He mocked their handling of power supply issues, known as dumsor.
Afenyo Markin claimed that under John Mahama, Ghanaians face "dumsor pro max." He said when Ghanaians ask for light, the NDC responds with darkness.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former vice president and NPP presidential candidate, also criticized the NDC. He noted that the NPP managed power generation well during its eight years in office. In contrast, he said the NDC is struggling after just four months.
Bawumia warned that the NDC and dumsor are closely linked. He stated that Ghanaians did not heed this warning. Now it is clear there is a significant problem.
John Jinapor, Minister for Energy and Green Transition, disagrees with calls for a load-shedding timetable. He explained that Ghana generates enough power to meet demand but lacks excess capacity. When one plant goes offline, it causes disruptions.
Jinapor urged Ghanaians to be patient as they address these challenges. He assured them they are working towards uninterrupted power supply.
