Dzifa Gomashie loses father at age 106

Hon. Dzifa Abla Gomashie, Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, is mourning. Her father, Mr. Gomashie, has passed away. He was 106 years old.

Dzifa Abla Gomashie shared the sad news on Facebook. She posted a touching message along with a photo of her father.

In her post, she included a poem with five stanzas. The first stanza reads:

"BEGONE, unbelief; my Saviour is near,
And for my relief will surely appear:
By prayer let me wrestle, and He will perform;
With Christ in the vessel, I smile at the storm."

The second stanza continues:

"Though dark be my way, since He is my Guide,
’Tis mine to obey, ’tis His to provide;
Though cisterns be broken and creatures all fail,
The word He hath spoken shall surely prevail."

Her heartfelt post has drawn condolences from many people. Friends and associates in government have reached out. Many Ghanaians who follow her have also expressed their sympathy.
