Adaklu Member of Parliament (MP(, Kwame Agbodza, has accused the Akufo-Addo government of exploiting Ghanaians with the $147 million E-Gate project at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

Comparing costs, he highlighted that the Mahama administration spent $250 million to construct the entire Terminal 3, while the current government allocated a disproportionate amount for a single digital feature.

Speaking at a press conference in Parliament, Agbodza criticized Vice President Bawumia for endorsing the initiative, claiming it benefits private entities at public expense.

While the E-Gate system aims to enhance border control and ease passenger travel through advanced technology, Agbodza questioned its financial justification.

Defending the project, officials praised its potential to improve border management and align with Ghana’s digitalization goals, but Agbodza dismissed it as a misuse of public funds.
