E/R: Female contractor allegedly loots construction materials over claims of unpaid funds

A dramatic scene unfolded on Sunday at the construction site of an ultra-modern hostel for Asokore SDA College of Education when a female contractor, identified as Madam Akua, was allegedly caught looting building materials, including blocks and iron rods.

Hon. Evans Appiah, a renowned contractor and eyewitness, revealed on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem that Madam Akua justified her actions by claiming she had not received mobilization funds.

However, Hon. Appiah refuted her claim, stating she had already been paid and highlighting that all materials on-site are government property, even if a contract is terminated.

Hon. Samuel Adongo, NDC Parliamentary Candidate for New Juaben North, reportedly intervened to stop the contractor.

The incident has sparked public debate about transparency in government contracts, with investigations by Effiduase police underway.
