E/R: Pragia rider allegedly murdered in Somanya

Police in Somanya are investigating the murder of a tricycle rider. The victim, Otu Samuel, was 30 years old. His body was found lying naked near a gutter.

The police discovered his body in a supine position. His tricycle, with registration number M-23-GR 7942, was on fire nearby. This incident occurred at Dorhetso, a suburb of Somanya.

Witnesses say the victim and others were chased to the scene around 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 3. They were accused of theft. The other passengers managed to escape, leaving Otu behind.

Local residents told police they did not see any mob action. They also did not hear cries for help from Otu or the other passengers.

At Yilo Krobo District Hospital, a physician assistant declared Otu dead on arrival. His body has been sent to the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.

So far, no arrests have been made in this case. Police are asking the public for any information that could help their investigation.
