ECG announces power cuts for May 15 due to maintenance works

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced maintenance activities for May 15, 2025. These will occur in parts of the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions.

The maintenance aims to improve service reliability and ensure stable electricity supply.

In the Greater Accra Region, emergency work will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Affected areas include Tseaddo, Marie Court Estate, Avenue Junction, New England, and nearby communities.

ECG regrets any inconvenience this may cause residents and businesses.

In the Ashanti Region, three planned maintenance exercises are scheduled for the same day:

The first operation runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Power will be disrupted in Adankwame, Achiase, Kronum Cement, Nketiah, Asuofua, Offinso, and other areas.

The second operation is from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Communities like Fawoade, Mamponteng, Ntonso, and nearby areas will experience outages.

The third operation also runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Power interruptions will affect Piase, Deduako, Mim, New Brodakwaw, Beposo, and several others.

ECG assures the public that these activities are crucial for improving electricity supply consistency and reliability.

The company apologizes for any inconvenience caused. Residents in affected areas should take precautions and prepare accordingly.
