The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is working with NADMO. They aim to restore power in areas hit by flooding. This follows a heavy rainstorm on May 18, 2025.
The storm caused widespread flooding and power outages. NADMO advised ECG to isolate certain locations until it is safe. This will help ensure safety as floodwaters recede.
ECG listed the affected areas under isolation at NADMO's request. These include Borteyman Stadium, Affordable Housing, and Borteyman Township. Other areas are Little Roses, Lakeside, Nanakrom, and Kissieman. Additional locations include Dome Pillar 2, Christian Village, School Junction, and more.
ECG stressed that restoring electricity is a priority. However, they must follow safety protocols and NADMO’s guidelines. This helps prevent further hazards during restoration efforts.
“Safety of lives and property is paramount,” the statement said. Power will be restored when it is safe to do so.
Customers facing individual outages or issues should report them immediately. They can contact the ECG Call Centre at 0302-611611 or visit an ECG office. Customers can also reach out via social media @ECGghOfficial on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram.
The collaboration between ECG and NADMO aims for a coordinated emergency response. This effort seeks to reduce the impact of floods and restore normalcy in power supply across affected areas.
