Kofi Bentil, Senior Vice President of IMANI Africa, addressed the missing containers at the port. He stated these containers, linked to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), are not actually missing.
Bentil explained that proper documentation must exist for their movement. He believes some officials know where the containers are located. These officials should be compelled to share this information.
He emphasized that Ghana is not in a state of anarchy. Systems and institutions need to function effectively. "We can’t afford to continue this anarchic arrangement," he said.
Accountability is crucial, according to Bentil. Individuals with information should be identified and held responsible. In a functioning state, those suspected of wrongdoing must be traced and questioned.
Bentil described the situation as a governance failure. He called for a systemic response to address it. Ghana cannot continue under what he termed an “anarchic arrangement.” Authorities must take decisive action to resolve this issue.
