ECOWAS@50: Mahama Invites Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger leaders to launch

President John Dramani Mahama has invited military leaders from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. They are invited to the 50th-anniversary celebrations of ECOWAS. This event will take place on April 22, 2025, in Accra.

The celebration will occur at the Accra International Conference Centre. It aims to gather dignitaries from the region and international partners. The focus will be on ECOWAS's achievements in trade, infrastructure, regional integration, and peacekeeping.

President Mahama’s invitation seeks to promote dialogue and unity within ECOWAS. This is especially important given ongoing political transitions in the sub-region.

The Golden Jubilee launch will highlight regional cooperation. It aims to address common challenges and support sustainable development across West Africa.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa announced this at a press conference today in Accra.
