The European Union Ambassador to Ghana, Irchad Razaaly, has announced his departure. This year’s Europe Day celebration is his last in this role. He shared this news during the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration. This declaration laid the foundation for the European Union.
Ambassador Razaaly expressed deep appreciation for his time in Ghana. He praised the strong ties between the EU and Ghana. He thanked everyone who supported him during his service.
“I am grateful for our Ghanaian counterparts,” he said. He acknowledged past and present administrations, ministries, civil society, and the media. Most importantly, he thanked the people of Ghana.
He is optimistic about his successor's future in Ghana. “I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you,” he stated. He believes that support will continue for his successor arriving in September.
Ambassador Razaaly emphasized the EU's commitment to multilateralism and regional stability. He also highlighted the importance of international rules-based trading.
