Education Ministry renames UHAS after late Prof. Mills

The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has announced a name change.

The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho is now named after Professor John Evans Atta Mills.

This announcement was made during the inauguration of the university’s new Governing Council.

The event took place at the Ministry on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

The renaming honors the late President Mills. He played a key role in establishing UHAS. His commitment to health and education in Ghana was unwavering.

Council Chair Prof. Kodzo Gavua welcomed this decision. He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to academic excellence and nation-building.

Prof J.E.A Mills UHAS remains a leading institution. It focuses on training skilled health professionals for Ghana and beyond.
