Dr. Samuel Koranteng Pipim is a well-known Ghanaian author and speaker. He recently spoke at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW). He challenged Ghana’s education sector to focus on more than just certificates.
Dr. Pipim emphasized that education should empower students' minds. He stated, “Education is not simply the learning of facts or passing exams.” It should train students to think critically and creatively.
He referenced influential thinkers like Albert Einstein and Dr. J.E.K. Aggrey. They defined education as training for the head, hand, and heart.
Dr. Pipim argued that education shouldn't be limited to reading, writing, and arithmetic. It must also develop practical skills and moral values.
He urged educational institutions in Ghana to adopt this holistic view of education. He believes it is essential for shaping the nation’s future.
