Egypt replaces Cote D'Ivoire as host of CAF U-20 AFCON

Egypt will host this year's CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Cote D'Ivoire withdrew just four weeks before the tournament.

The Egyptian Football Association and government had bid to host earlier.

The opening match is now on Sunday, 27 April 2025.

The final will take place on 18 May 2025.

Ghana's Black Satellites will compete in the tournament.

This is their first participation since winning in 2021.

They won the competition held in Mauritania that year.

Ghana is in a group with Cote d'Ivoire, Tanzania, and DR Congo.

They will also face another team from UNIFFAC 2.
