Eight dead in fatal crash at New Ayaase

Eight people died in a crash involving a Sprinter van, a long bus, and a Toyota Corolla. The accident happened on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in New Ayaase, Adansi-Fomena District.

The Sprinter bus was traveling from Kumasi to Fosu. It tried to overtake the Toyota Corolla heading towards Fomena. This led to a head-on collision with an oncoming long bus from Kumasi. The impact caused the Corolla to veer off the road uncontrollably.

Isaac Adjei is the Assembly Member for Fomena East Electoral Area. He told Citi News that the crash was so severe that the Sprinter split into two. One half of the van somersaulted off the road.

Six victims died at the scene of the accident. Two others later died at the hospital. Adjei emphasized the need for speed ramps in the area to prevent reckless driving and future tragedies.
