Election 2024: Declaring results ahead of EC unnecessary – CODEO to media

The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) has urged media outlets to wait for the Electoral Commission (EC) before announcing election results in the 2024 General Elections.

National Coordinator Albert Arhin warned that premature results could cause confusion and unrest.

CODEO, which has access to preliminary results, will not release them to respect official procedures.

Arhin stressed that only the EC has the authority to declare results, and respecting this protocol is crucial for maintaining public trust in the electoral process.
