Electoral Commission’s voter exhibition struggles with low participation

Voter exhibition officers in Sekondi-Takoradi have expressed concern over the low turnout during the Electoral Commission’s voter register exhibition, which allows voters to verify their details and make necessary corrections.

Polling stations with over 1,000 registered voters reported fewer than 50 visitors in the first two days.

The officers believe the low attendance is partly due to the availability of a shortcode for online verification, reducing the need for in-person visits.

They are calling for increased public awareness to boost participation.
