Energy Minister finds some missing ECG containers at Shai Hills

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has made a breakthrough. He found 40 missing containers belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

These containers hold important electrical equipment for the power sector. The discovery happened during his visit to a warehouse at Shai Hills.

This visit is part of ongoing investigations into over 1,000 missing containers. Concerns have been raised about the security and management of state assets.

Chief Superintendent Alhaji Alhassan confirmed more missing containers are at another company. Authorities plan to inspect this second company next.

He also mentioned a third company might be involved but is hiding its role. The discovery at Shai Hills is crucial in solving the mystery of the missing ECG containers.

Authorities are determined to hold those responsible accountable. Investigations continue, with the Ministry of Energy working with the National Security Council Secretariat. They aim to ensure all containers are found and prevent future issues.
