John Abdulai Jinapor, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, inaugurated the new board of Go Energy Company Limited. This company is a subsidiary of Goil Plc. The ceremony took place on Friday, May 16.
Mr. Jinapor tasked the board with transforming Go Energy into Ghana's most reliable Bulk Distribution Company (BDC). He highlighted the company's important role in Ghana’s petroleum sector. He urged the board to make Go Energy the preferred BDC for government transactions.
“Go Energy should be the primary BDC for government,” he said. He noted that like many state-owned enterprises, Go Energy has debt issues. “You must find innovative ways to improve efficiency and finances,” he added. He assured them of his full support and cooperation.
Yaw Akoto, the new Chairman of the Board, thanked the President and Minister for their trust. He promised that the board would work with dedication and integrity. “It is an honor to accept this role as Chairman,” he stated.
He emphasized that Go Energy is a key subsidiary of Goil Plc. The goal is to become the best BDC in the energy sector. The new board members include:
1. Mr. Yaw Akoto – Chairman
2. Mr. Theophilus Otchere – Member
3. Mr. Emmanuel Jeffery – Member
4. Mr. Alex Oti-Mensah – Member
5. Madam Patricia Kyei Frimpong – Member
6. Mr. Mohammed Amin Osman – Member
