Energy Minister launches 7-member committee to explore private sector role in power distribution

On January 24, 2025, John Abdullai Jinapor, Minister for Energy and Green Transition, inaugurated a seven-member technical committee to advise on integrating private sector involvement in Ghana's power distribution sector.

The committee, led by Mr. Jabesh Amissah-Arthur, consists of energy experts and stakeholders tasked with consulting industry players, unions, and consumers to create a comprehensive plan.

The Minister expressed confidence in the committee's ability to fulfill its mandate within a month and stressed the importance of promoting local content and business participation.

He urged worker unions and all involved parties to fully cooperate with the committee as it works to improve the distribution sector in the country's best interest.
