Transparency International (TI) Ghana has highlighted the need for citizen involvement in climate policy. Many decisions are made without citizens' knowledge or input.
They emphasized a strategic approach to advocacy. This should be supported by documented evidence. The focus should be on SDGs 16.4, 16.5, and 16.6, which promote justice and strong institutions.
At a meeting in Accra, Mrs. Mary Awelana Addah spoke about these issues. She is the Executive Director of TI Ghana. She stressed that gaps in public participation can harm the fight against corruption.
These gaps also affect achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Climate issues are linked to poverty, education, health, and gender. Coordinated action is urgently needed to address these interconnected challenges.
