Eric Edem Agbana: Ketu North MP engages Chinese Embassy to explore collaborative strategies for unlocking Ketu North dev’t potential

Eric Edem Agbana, the MP for Ketu North, met with the Chinese Embassy on April 25, 2025. He aimed to explore ways to develop Ketu North.

Agbana led a delegation to the Embassy of China in Accra. They met with Tong Defa, the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, and his team. The group included Martin Amenaki, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ketu North, and representatives from farmer organizations.

The meeting focused on building cooperation in agriculture, education, and commerce. Both parties discussed strategies to unlock Ketu North's development potential.

Key topics included vocational training opportunities in China for skilled individuals from Ketu North. They also talked about agro-technological investments to modernize farming practices. This would improve productivity and make Ketu North an economic hub.

Additionally, they discussed educational partnerships to strengthen STEM education. There was a focus on securing scholarships for students to study in China. The Chinese Embassy committed to starting a pilot vocational training program soon.

They will also conduct a feasibility study for agro-technology interventions in Ketu North.

Agbana highlighted Ketu North’s appeal to investors due to its fertile land and youthful workforce. He noted the leadership's commitment to fostering innovation and growth.

“This engagement is crucial for transforming Ketu North into an agricultural hub,” he stated. The dialogue reflects efforts to attract international partnerships aligned with local development goals. This aims at accelerating development and creating job opportunities in the district.
