Former Chief of Staff under the Kufuor administration, Kwadwo Mpiani, has criticized the leadership culture within the recently ousted New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, describing it as rife with sycophancy.

Speaking in an interview, Mpiani revealed that party members failed to confront leadership when things went wrong, fearing they would fall out of favor. He attributed this to a concentration of power in one individual, creating an environment where dissent was unwelcome.

"Those who spoke up were sidelined and labeled as enemies of the president or government," Mpiani said.

He lamented the erosion of accountability, stating, "At some point, we all became sycophants, despite knowing things were off track."

Mpiani's comments underscore concerns about internal party dynamics and governance shortcomings.
