An Accra Circuit Court has granted bail of ₵100,000 with two sureties to Emmanuel Osei, a former marketing officer accused of embezzling ₵176,693.50 from Clemonic Company Limited, a cement distribution firm.

One surety must be a public servant earning at least ₵2,500 monthly.

Osei, who has pleaded not guilty, is accused of collecting customer payments but failing to deposit them into the company’s accounts, instead claiming customers owed the firm.

Investigations revealed the customers had already paid, and Osei admitted to misappropriating the funds, with ₵50,000 recovered.

The court, presided over by Mrs. Susanna Eduful, imposed strict bail conditions, with the case set for further cross-examination on January 8, 2025.

Osei maintains his innocence.
