Dr. Peace Obeng, Director of GIS Media College in Nsawam, Eastern Region, has expressed concerns over how Ghana's currency depreciation is hindering students from pursuing international courses.

Speaking at the college's second graduation ceremony in Asamankese, Dr. Obeng noted that media students aiming to enroll in UK-based Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) programs are unable to afford them due to unfavorable exchange rates.

He urged media professionals to consider local courses for career advancement and called on parents to support aspiring journalists.

He announced plans to expand the college beyond Nsawam and Asamankese, emphasizing the need for professional training in journalism.

NDC Parliamentary Candidate Owen Kwame Frimpong, who attended the event, commended Ghana’s media professionalism and encouraged citizens to vote in the December elections.
