Expectations are high, but I’m committed to Tema – Ebi Bright

Ebi Bright has been confirmed as the new Mayor of Tema. She is committed to serving the entire municipality. Bright recognizes the significant responsibility of her role amid recent political tensions.

In an interview on Eyewitness News, she addressed public concerns about her appointment. Bright noted that her previous political efforts focused on Tema Central. However, her dedication has always included the broader Tema area.

“It’s been difficult for me to separate Tema Central from Tema,” she said. “We needed to be heard instead of being marginalized.”

As a former parliamentary candidate, Bright explained her focus on Tema Central was strategic. Yet, her loyalty has always been to the whole city. “Tema Central is part of Tema as a whole,” she stated.

Bright expressed honor in her new position but also felt the weight of the challenge ahead. She acknowledged public scrutiny surrounding her nomination and confirmation. “There will be high expectations from myself and my team,” she said, adding, “We are very elated.”
