North Tongu Lawmaker Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is urging President Akufo-Addo to order a health screening for senior high school students who consumed allegedly expired rice.
Ablakwa claims the expired rice was repackaged and distributed to schools, posing a health risk.
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) fined the importer GH¢100,000 for violating regulations, but maintains the rice met safety standards.
Ablakwa criticized the Chief of Staff for dismissing his allegations as propaganda, calling her comments "reckless" and "irresponsible."
