The F. Alpha and Omega Specialist Hospital in Madina has celebrated its first anniversary. The event took place on April 12, 2024. The hospital pledged to continue providing quality healthcare.
Francis Sasu, the Member of Parliament for Madina, praised the hospital's contributions. He commended the leadership for their commitment. He also promised to seek international support from organizations like the World Bank.
Managing Director Mr. Francis Fosu reflected on the hospital’s journey over the past year. “On April 12, 2023, we began this journey,” he said. He expressed pride in their accomplishments after one year.
Mr. Fosu shared impressive statistics from their first year. There were over 85,332 outpatient visits and 11,308 admissions. Daily outpatient cases averaged between 200 and 350.
Antenatal care and deliveries are free for NHIS card-holding pregnant women. This resulted in 75 cesarean sections performed during the year. The surgical department conducted 140 surgeries, including hernia repairs and appendectomies.
A key highlight was partnering with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). This partnership allowed free NHIS registration and renewals for everyone. It facilitated immediate access to healthcare services.
Staff capacity has significantly increased from 35 to over 80 personnel within a year. This growth reflects rising patient demand and service expansion. Mr. Fosu thanked his dedicated staff for maintaining a clean environment.
He also acknowledged his wife, Mrs. Rita Fosu, for her support of their vision. “With lessons learned this past year, we aim higher,” he stated. He invited all stakeholders to help transform healthcare in Madina.
The hospital is located on a three-acre property at Madina Powerland near Ritz Junction. It offers various services including outpatient care, specialist surgery, pediatrics, antenatal care, obstetrics, and gynecology.
During the anniversary celebration, two new departments were launched: an IVF Center and a Premium Center. Mr. Fosu explained that the Premium Center caters to clients seeking personalized services outside of NHIS coverage.
