The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) has ordered the freezing of bank accounts linked to Richard Nii Armah Quaye. This action is part of an investigation into tax liabilities and money laundering allegations.
A confidential directive was intercepted by Classfmonline.com. The FIC also froze the accounts of Bills Micro-Credit, Quick Credit and Investment, and Romeo-Richlove Kweku Seshie.
The directive was issued to banks holding these accounts. It cites Section 56(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering Act 2020 (Act 1044) as the legal basis for this action.
"You are hereby directed to immediately freeze all accounts concerning the above names," stated the FIC in its notice to financial institutions.
This move aims to combat financial crimes in Ghana. It also enforces strict compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.
