Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister for Government Communication, has dismissed rumors about Anne Sansa Daly. He stated that she was never John Mahama's personal physician.
A viral social media post showed Daly thanking Mahama for his victory. In her message, she claimed to have served as his doctor during his opposition period.
On June 1, 2025, Felix Kwakye Ofosu spoke with Oyerepa TV. He said, “It is not true. I know President Mahama’s real physician.” He emphasized that this qualified doctor has worked with Mahama for years.
Ofosu added that Daly has never been close to the president. He confirmed her claims are false and noted that some people flagged her post as fake.
He mentioned that Daly did not attend the inauguration because her nomination was withdrawn. Documents showed she had no appointment at that time.
The government acted on this issue before it became public knowledge. Ofosu expressed a willingness to address concerns raised by citizens.
Daly's appointment as a board member of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) was revoked by President Mahama. This decision followed reports questioning her medical credentials.
Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh confirmed the revocation in a letter dated May 23, 2025. The letter was signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President.
Additionally, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine could not find any record of Anne Sansa Daly. A pharmacist named Reginald Sekyi-Brown contacted them on May 25, 2025.
In their response, Johns Hopkins stated they were unable to locate a record under her name.
