The family of the late Madam Gertrude Essie Quashigah has strongly refuted allegations by former Gender Minister Sarah Adwoa Safo regarding the alleged mismanagement of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) during her tenure as National Coordinator.
In a statement, the family expressed disappointment and sadness over the claims, emphasizing that Mrs. Quashigah served with integrity and significantly expanded the programme to benefit thousands of Ghanaian schoolchildren. They described the accusations as unfounded and painful, especially since she is no longer alive to defend herself.
Highlighting the historical ties between the Quashigah and Safo families, the statement urged Adwoa Safo to retract her comments, offer an unqualified apology, and respect the late coordinator’s legacy.
The family further called on Ghanaians to remember Madam Gertrude Quashigah for her dedication to national development and child welfare.
