Fatawu Issahaku to be fit for Leicester City pre-season

Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is optimistic about joining Leicester City. He hopes to be part of the squad for pre-season in the 2025/26 campaign.

Issahaku participated in team training earlier this week. He completed his final session before heading off for holidays.

The 20-year-old has not played since November. He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while playing for the Black Stars. This happened during a qualifier against Angola for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite his injury, Issahaku feels ready to compete again. "I have been working so hard," he said. His rehabilitation has gone well with support from everyone at the club.

"I’ll be ready before pre-season," he added in a video on social media.

He made significant progress and was involved in light training before the last game of the season. "I can’t wait to be back on the field," he said.

Issahaku's injury kept him out for the rest of the season. Leicester City also faced relegation to the Championship during this time.
