Joseph Ade Coker, the former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, has a message for Ghanaians. He urges them to support the ‘Feed Ghana Programme’ launched by President John Dramani Mahama.
Coker believes this initiative can transform agriculture and strengthen Ghana’s economy. In an interview on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily, he highlighted its potential for job creation. He said that if implemented well, it could provide massive employment opportunities for the youth.
"We need to go back to the basics," he stated. "We must encourage ourselves to feed ourselves." He emphasized that adding processing factories would create even more jobs.
His comments followed the official launch of the ‘Feed Ghana Programme’ on April 12. President Mahama explained that this initiative aims to reposition agriculture in Ghana's development agenda.
The programme is part of a broader strategy called the Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda (AETA). This vision seeks to modernize agriculture, create jobs, reduce food inflation, and ensure long-term food security.
Ade Coker supports this vision and believes integrating agro-processing factories will enhance its effectiveness. He thinks this integration will significantly boost productivity and add value in agriculture.
