Feed Ghana initiative will solve Ghana's food problems - Casper Kampoli

Casper Kampoli, from the National Democratic Congress' communication team, spoke about the Feed Ghana project. He believes it will solve Ghana’s food problem.

During an interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show, he explained how the program aims to transform Ghana’s economy through agriculture.

“The Feed Ghana programme is a foundation for our agricultural agenda,” he said. The larger theme is 'Agriculture for Economic Transformation.' The Feed Ghana programme supports these initiatives.

He emphasized that this year, the government wants agriculture to boost economic growth significantly. Mr. Casper encouraged Ghanaians to join the vegetable development project under this initiative. He noted that participants do not need large land areas.

Mr. Casper discussed smart agriculture and farmer service centers. These centers will provide farmers with essential tools and equipment for farming.

He compared the Feed Ghana project to the Planting for Food and Jobs program. He stated that unlike its predecessor, Feed Ghana has nine components designed to enhance economic contributions.

To address issues with the school feeding program, Mr. Casper mentioned government plans for institutional farms. These farms will help senior high schools grow one food crop each.
