Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has denied reports that the Presidency has ordered the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to investigate the official travels of former President Nana Akufo-Addo.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Presidency has not given any order to the NIB to look into President Akufo-Addo's travels,” he wrote on Facebook.

His statement follows media reports suggesting that the intelligence agency had been tasked with reviewing Akufo-Addo’s travel records during his tenure. While the reports fueled speculation about transparency and accountability, Ofosu Kwakye’s clarification aims to put the matter to rest.

Government sources also insist that no such directive has been issued. Meanwhile, the NIB has yet to comment publicly on the matter.

The controversy highlights ongoing debates over governance accountability and political narratives in Ghana.
