Female Vice Chancellors congratulate Ghana’s first female Vice President-elect

Female Vice Chancellors of Ghana's public universities paid a courtesy call on Vice President-elect Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, celebrating her historic election as Ghana’s first female Vice President.

The delegation lauded her contributions to academia, education, and women empowerment.

Discussions centered on enhancing higher education through funding, job creation for graduates, and boosting faculty research capacity.

The Vice Chancellors included Professor Lydia Aziato (University of Health and Allied Sciences), Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo (University of Ghana), and Professor Esi Awuah (former Vice Chancellor, University of Energy and Natural Resources).

They presented the Adinkra symbol “Nea Ope Se Obedi Hene,” symbolizing service and leadership.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang expressed gratitude and reiterated her dedication to inclusive, high-quality education.
